In order to enrich students’ extracurricular life, stimulate students’ interest in math learning as well as cultivate their abilities in rapid calculation, in the third classes on the afternoons of 6th and 10th January, 2017, Anqing Foreign Language School’s Junior High Department of the west campus convened the Speedy Calculation 24 Contest in Grade 7 and Grade 8 respectively. Three students from each class formed the representative team. After four rounds of fierce competition, judges selected the first, second and third prizes in group category in addition to the Individual Award, other known as the Marvelous Prediction Award.
To begin with, in Grade 7, the first prizes were obtained by Classes 2,5&7. What’s more, the second prizes went to Classes 3,8,9&10 while Classes 1,4,6,11,12&13 shared the third-place awards.
In the meantime, in Grade 8, first prize winners were Classes 1,2&5 while the second prize contestants were Classes 4,6&8. In addition, Classes 3,7,9,10,11&12 shared the third prizes.
More remarkably, students Tang Wenhao from Class 2, Grade 7 and Zhang Jian from Class 5, Grade 8 had the honor the get the Marvelous Prediction Awards in Grade 7 and Grade 8 respectively.
